Marmar: Al Ahed's target is the title
Beirut: Al Ahed head coach Bassem Marmar said his side’s dream is now to win the 2019 AFC Cup after seeing off Jordan’s Al Jazeera in the West Asia Zonal Final on Tuesday.
Al Ahed are in AFC Cup final for the first time and the 42-year-old Marmar said that his side will put their full focus on lifting the Continental trophy.

“Our dream is bigger now and we must work harder in order to achieve our target,” said Marmar. “The win tonight will give the players big motivation in order to win the title.
“Today, the players were determined to win the match and they showed a great performance. I’m really proud of what they have done, especially in the first half.
“In the second period, they showed great fighting spirit and they were heroes,” he added.
Reviewing the performance of his side in the two matches against Al Jazeera, Marmar said the pressure in the first leg had been greater on his players.
“In the first leg, we didn’t have an aggressive performance as the players were cautious because we failed to get past this stage last year,” he explained. “Tonight, things were different and we showed our true quality.”
