Marmar, who steered Al Ahed FC to their first Continental title last year, said his side managed to get a positive result despite their recent difficulties.
“We didn’t play any official match in the last four months,” said Marmar to local media. "The players, however, had a great performance especially in the second half as we managed to make a good comeback.
"I urged the players at half time to give their best because they are the defending champions.”
Hilal Alquds head coach Amjed Taha said his side had a good match but they struggled with the pitch conditions which affected the performance of both teams.
“We played well but the pitch conditions affected us as it was not good for football,” said Taha.
“We tried our best to have a good performance despite these conditions.
“However, we had several young players who had a satisfying performance,” he added. “I hope that we can improve further in the upcoming matches.”
