Phnom Penh: Lao Toyota FC twice came from behind to hold Boeung Ket FC 3-3 in their AFC Cup ASEAN Zone play-off first leg tie at the National Olympic Stadium in Phnom Penh on Monday.
In a thrilling tie which saw Lao Toyota first trail 1-0 and then 3-1, two goals in the final 11 minutes ensures there is everything still to play for in Friday's return leg.
Rogerio Maycon gave Boeung Ket the lead from the penalty spot in the sixth minute and the home team dominated possession for the better part of the first half.
Kazuo Homma drew Lao Toyota level against the run of play in the 30th minute, which saw a shift in the game as Boeung Ket lost their grip on the match.
They were, however, back in the driver's seat eight minutes into the restart as Maycon scored his second of the night.
It soon became 3-1 as Khuon Laboravy found the back of the net again for Boeung Ket in the 60th minute.
At that stage, it looked like the Cambodian club would take a hefty lead into the return leg but midfielder Frederic Pooda pulled one back for Lao Toyota in the 79th minute.
Kazuo then set the stage for a grand stand finish as he scored his second of the night three minutes from full time.
A stung Boeung Ket tried to find a fourth but it was not to be and Friday's return leg promises to be another thriller.
