Preview – AFC Cup Bracket Challenge : Semi-finals


Kuala Lumpur: After almost five weeks of great goals from the AFC Cup, the Bracket Challenge has reached its semi-final stage as just four players remain in the quest to find what you, the fans, consider the best goal in the competition from the past decade. 

Lovers of the beautiful game voted in their hundreds of thousands to help their favourite players book a place in the last four and, following some hotly contested match-ups, the semi-final line-up was confirmed on Monday.

The four remaining players come from four different clubs and three different regions, with ASEAN represented by Hanoi FC's Nguyen Quang Hai and Johor Darul Ta'zim's Safawi Rasid, East Asia by South China AA's Chan Siu Ki and South Asia by New Radiant's Ali Ashfaq.

Thus, the winner of the AFC Cup Bracket Challenge will come from one of either Vietnam, Malaysia, Hong Kong or the Maldives, with the contest proving a huge hit among football followers from the four nations.

The semi-final between Chan Siu Ki and Safawi Rasid will kick off on Wednesday, November 18 before the clash between Nguyen Quang Hai and Ali Ashfaq begins on Thursday, November 19.
