Hamedan: Iraq coach Sadd Hashim has dedicated Iraq’s AFC U-14 Championship title to the entire nation.

Iraq won the championship in Hamedan’s Hajibabaei Stadium thanks to an emphatic 3-0 win over DPR Korea.

A brace from prolific striker Mohanad Ali Kadhim, who finished as the tournament's top scorer with six goals, and a solitary strike from captain Mohammed Radhi sealed the success for Hashim's talented charges.

Ridha also bagged the Abdullah Al Dabal Most Valuable Player award, while Iraq were handed the Fair Play award.

“All these achievements are down to the hard work and dedication of my players,” an ecstatic Hashim told reporters after the match.

“These boys have wonderful qualities, they are not shy about asking questions, and they are always keen to learn.

“As you all know there are problems back home, but I dedicate this trophy to all the people in my country, and hope peace fosters in Iraq.

“Despite the tough times, the Iraq Football Association (IFA) provided us with the best training facilities, so they are the ones who must be thanked for this victory.

“The IFA has already committed to continue with this team and, if we play like this, the future looks bright,” he added.
