Uzbekistan had to come from behind to defeat their Central Asian neighbours at the Jar Stadium in Tashkent.

Turkmenistan, who lost their opening match 5-0 to India, were a much improved side against Uzbekistan and took the lead through midfielder Goshayev Yslamgeldi in the 41st minute.

The lead, however, lasted only a few minutes as Uzbekistan drew level in the first minute of first half added time after the unfortunate Atabayev Rahymberdi turned the ball into his own net.

The second half was an equally tight affair until midfielder Rian Islamov edged Uzbekistan ahead in the 72nd minute.

Forward Rustam Turdimurodov widened Uzbekistan's lead 10 minutes later and Mamiyev Begench's effort in first half stoppage time proved to be a mere consolation for Turkmenistan.

India were in rampant form as they registered their second successive 5-0 win on Friday, with Bahrain simply unable to stop the South Asians at the Transportation Institute Stadium in Tashkent.

Bahrain goalkeeper Mohamed Hasan Jaafar gifted India their second goal in the 25th minute and two minutes later, Nongmeikapam scored his second.

The points were virtually sealed in the first minute of first half stoppage time as Shubho Paul sent the ball into the back of the net and the forward added India's fifth in the 73rd minute as Bibiano Fernandes' players look forward to meeting Uzbekistan on Sunday.
