Qualifiers - Group C: IR Iran make Finals

Hamedan: Islamic Republic of Iran are through to the AFC U-16 Championship 2020 Finals as Group C winners after beating Afghanistan 4-0 on Sunday.

Iran will make their 12th appearance in the Finals as they sailed to three wins in Group C, with Afghanistan finishing as group runners-up.

Palestine ended on a high note after defeating Maldives 4-1 on Sunday.

Both sides came into the match needing a win, but it was Iran who took the lead through Mohammad Reza Kooshki in the 17th minute.

Iran doubled their advantage two minutes into added time with Yadegar Rostami converting a spot-kick.

Rostami found the back of the net again in the 59th minute and Reze Kooshki doubled his tally in the 76th to seal an emphatic win.

Palestine 4-1 Maldives

After a goalless first half, it was Maldives who broke the deadlock in the 50th minute through Aiham Hamdoon.

Palestine head coach Markam Daqoub sent on Malik Al Sharbati in the 51st minute, and the substitute made an impact five minutes later with the defender scoring the equaliser.

Boosted by the goal, Palestine took the lead 10 minutes later with Almothana Khdirat finding the back of the net.

Bahaa Awayssa scored their third in the 88th minute, before Fouad Attal completed the scoring for Palestine in the second minute of added time.
