Qualifiers - Group K: Thailand, Korea Republic stay perfect
Yangon: It will be a winner takes all clash between Thailand and Korea Republic on Sunday after both recorded their second wins in Group K of the AFC U-16 Championship 2020 Qualifiers on Friday.
Thailand cruised to a 6-0 win over Chinese Taipei while Korea Republic had to see off a spirited challenge from hosts Myanmar to win 1-0 Thuwanna Stadium.

Thailand, who defeated Myanmar 4-0 on Matchday One, were the first to settle into the game with Kongpop Sroirak finding the net in the 22nd minute to give the young War Elephants the lead.
Thanawat Saipetch then doubled Thailand’s advantage with his effort at the half-hour mark as the Southeast Asians took a 2-0 lead going into the break.
Chinese Taipei, who lost 10-0 to Korea Republic on Matchday One, were unable to fight the tide as Thailand came back in the second half firing on all cylinders.
Niphitphon Wongpanya turned on the style with four goals, with his first two coming in the 47th and 49th minutes.
He completed his hat-trick in the 59th minute and capped a wonderful performance by scoring his final goal in added time.
Myanmar 0-1 Korea Republic
Myanmar started the tie with the hope of earning their first victory, while Korea Republic were chasing their second win in the Qualifiers.
However, both teams failed to find the mark in a tight first half.
Myanmar continued their defensive approach in the second half but their resistance finally broke in the 51st minute when Korea Republic were awarded a penalty..
Chang Ha-min made no mistake from the spot and Korea Republic closed shop as they set their eyes on Thailand.
