After falling to a big defeat against Australia two days earlier, the Cambodians put up a more determined performance to beat highly rated Thailand.

Thailand’s Guntapon Keereeleang over the top attempt was replied with a sublime effort from Keo Oudom that rocked their opponent’s crossbar in the 32nd minute.

The close battle was carried through into the second half before Cambodia finally broke the deadlock in the 53rd minute when Wut Tola headed in a free-kick from Chea Sokmeng.

Thailand then replied with the equaliser in the 68th minute with Sitthinan Rungrueang providing the cross and Guntapon latching home.

Cambodiatook the lead after an own goal from Thailand’s Chantmongkol Rueangthanarot in the 75th minute but the Thais drew level again when Thirapak Prueangna fired in a rocket barely a minute later.

As the Thais seemed to slow down, Cambodia’s Sieng Chanthea took the opportunity to blast in two quick goals in the 87th and 88th minutes to put the score at 4-2.

Thailand managed to conjure up their third goal in injury time when Guntapon headed in Chatmongkol’s corner, but it came too late for a revival.

Malaysia 3-1 Singapore

Malaysia claimed the lead as early as the sixth minute when Firdaus Kaironnisam found the back of the net, but Singapore recovered well and kept the Harimau Muda at bay till the end of the first half.

Six minutes into the second half, Kaironnisam doubled his and Malaysia's tally, before Zamani Zamri pulled one back for Singapore in the 75th minute, but a late goal from Luqman Hakim Shamsudin was enough for Malaysia to claim the win.
