Indonesia, Myanmar cruise into semi-finals
Thong Nhat: Indonesia and Myanmar sealed their places in the semi-finals of the AFF U-18 Championship 2019 with both registering their fourth consecutive wins on Monday.
Indonesia edged Laos 2-1 while Myanmar defeated Brunei Darussalam 2-0 and the two pacesetters will face off on Wednesday to decide the Group A winners.

INDONESIA 2-1 LAOS
An own goal from Anoulack Vannalath gave Indonesia their winning goal against Laos, with the victory following their earlier triumphs over Philippines, Timor Leste and Brunei Darussalam.
“Laos were very disciplined in their defending and that made it really hard for us. They had five players upfront and then the other five were disciplined at the back,” said Indonesia head coach Fakhri Hussaini.
“But the players responded well and we got the points we wanted.”
That Indonesia did as they rebounded from going behind to Alounnay Lounlasy's 69th minute strike admirably as the exciting Aminuddin Bagus Alfikri scored the equaliser just three minutes later.
Victory was sealed when the unfortunate Vannalath turned Beckham Nugraha's cross into his own net.
BRUNEI DARUSSALAM 0-2 MYANMAR
Myanmar joined Indonesia in the semi-finals after registering a 2-0 win over Brunei Darussalam.
“The important thing is that we managed to reach our target which is to make the semi-finals,” said Myanmar head coach Soe Myat Min. “Now we will have an important game against Indonesia next.”
Myanmar opened the scoring 10 minutes into the second half through Phyo Aung.
In the 73rd minute, Moe Swe pounced on a poor clearance from Brunei Darussalam goalkeeper Mohamad Riyan Jali for the second goal.
TIMOR-LESTE 5-2 PHILIPPINES
Timor Leste boosted their hopes of finishing third in the group after a 5-2 win over Philippines.
Midfielder Mouzinho Barreto De Lima was on target four times with goals in the 30th, 56th, 60th and 89th minutes with Komelis Nahak Portela adding the fifth in second half added time.
The Philippines' goals were scored by Carlo Guanzon Dorin (60th) and Pocholo Bugas (77th).
In Group B action on Tuesday, it will be all to play for as leaders Australia face second-placed Malaysia and Vietnam - third in the standings - play Thailand.
Fixtures - Tuesday (all times local): Australia vs Malaysia (15:30); Cambodia vs Singapore (16:30); Thailand vs Vietnam (19:30).
