Kyrgyz Republic had to come from behind to defeat United Arab Emirates 2-1 while Guam were in fine form as they scored a 12-0 win over Maldives.

In a tight match which saw neither side able to find a breakthrough in the first half, the tie burst into life when Shahd Khaled Al Zarkan scored for the UAE in the 59th minute.

A stung Kyrgyz Republic immediately upped the tempo as they went in search of the equaliser and their heavy pressing paid off in the 67th minute as Dalinger Viktoriia drew them level.

Seven minutes later, the hosts went ahead through Yrysbek Kyzy Kenzhebubu and it was a lead Kyrgyz Republic defended to start their campaign with a valuable three points.

Guam impressed in an emphatic 12-0 win over Maldives with Hannah Rose Benavente starting the goal rush with the opener in the sixth minute with Isabella Brae Bass doubling their lead in the 13th minute.

The early goals saw Maldives firming their defence but there was to be a third for Guam before the break as Lauren Marie gave them a comfortable lead to take into the half time break.

Marie struck her second just a minute into the restart and two more goals followed in quick succession as Sabrina Ann Keeney found the back of the net in the 48th and Marie completed her hat-trick in the 51st.

There was to be no respite for Maldives as Isa Kelawili Jacala added the seventh in the 60th while the eighth came three minutes later when an unfortunate Sana sent the ball into her own net.

Benavente secured her hat-trick with efforts in the 84th and 87th minutes and two goals in added time from Rylee Torrence and Ysabella Vasquez completed a memorable win for Guam.

Up next for Guam are Uzbekistan while Maldives will face the UAE, with both matches on Monday.
