Al Fakhouri: Jordan ready for title tilt
Buriram: Abdallah Al Fakhouri claims Jordan have their eyes fixed on the AFC U23 Championship Thailand 2020 title knowing that a win against the UAE on Thursday will secure their place in the quarter-finals.
Jordan are tied with the UAE on four points, following their 2-1 victory over DPR Korea and goalless stalemate against Vietnam on Matchday Two.

Ahmed Abu Ismail’s men only need a draw against the Emiratis in their final Group D fixture but goalkeeper Al Fakhouri insists Jordan are not taking any chances and will be aiming for nothing less than three points.
“For me as goalkeeper to not concede goals against Vietnam is great and I’m happy I’ve done my job my job well,” said the Al Wehdat SC shotstopper.
“This is very good for a goalkeeper and against UAE it’s about winning and nothing except winning.
“It was a very good match (against Vietnam) but unfortunately, we couldn’t score any goals.
“Hopefully we will perform better in the next match against the UAE and qualify for the knockout stage."
Al Fakhouri reiterated the importance of qualifying for the Tokyo Olympics but also revealed his team’s ambition of becoming champions at Thailand 2020.
“It’s very important for any team to qualify for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, it is a good for development and from the beginning of this tournament, that has been our target."
“But our desire here is to become champions and now we are one step closer to realising our dream .
“We hope all the fans in Jordan watch us play against the UAE and hopefully we will make them happy with our qualification.”
