Hao Wei replaces Hiddink as China PR U23 head coach

Kuala Lumpur: Former women's team national head coach Hao Wei has replaced Guus Hiddink at the helm of the China PR U-23 squad.

The Chinese Football Association (CFA) said in a statement posted on its website that the change is to ensure the China PR U-23 squad are well prepared for the AFC U23 Championship Thailand 2020, which also serves as the qualifying tournament for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

The China PR U-23 squad lost 2-0 to Vietnam in a friendly on September 8.

The CFA said a committee, which includes former China PR striker Gao Hongbo, will manage the U-23 squad's preparations for the AFC U23 Championship Thailand 2020.
