Jordan's Atieh raring to take on Vietnam
Buriram: A confident Mohammed Bani Atieh is looking forward to Jordan's AFC U23 Championship Thailand 2020 Group D clash against Vietnam after a stellar performance in their 2-1 win over DPR Korea on Friday.
Goalkeeper Kang Ju-hyok kept DPR Korea in the game before Jordan took the lead with Bani Atieh converting from the penalty spot just before the break.
The West Asians extended their lead in the 74th minute with substitute Omar Hani heading home Bani Atieh's cross and then weathered a late fightback from the Koreans to seal the win to top Group D.

“The first game is always the hardest but in the end we came out on top against a tough DPR Korea side, especially their goalkeeper who made some really important saves,” said Bani Atieh.
“We’re just delighted to have collected the three points and our focus is now on the next game (against Vietnam).
"I'm happy with the way the team played. There were periods when our opponents looked dangerous, especially towards the end of the game but ultimately we came together collectively and got the result."
The 20-year-old said having opened his tournament account has made him determined to score in every match.
“I’m glad I scored the first goal for Jordan. We never stopped trying and I hope to score in every match in this competition," said the Al-Faisaly SC midfielder.
Jordan face 2018 runners-up Vietnam, who drew 0-0 against the UAE in their opener, on Monday in what promises to be an exciting encounter at the Buriram Stadium before their final Group D tie against the Emiratis on Thursday.
