Korea Republic's Won named Thailand 2020 MVP
Bangkok: Korea Republic's Won Du-jae was named the AFC U23 Championship Thailand 2020 Most Valuable Player.
The midfielder played a sterling role in Korea Republic's campaign, which climaxed with the East Asians defeating Saudi Arabia 1-0 in the final at the Rajamangala Stadium on Sunday.

"Throughout the tournament our coach told us to play each match as if it was the last and that’s why we were more concentrated on our objectives," said Won.
"There was a lot of pressure on us, but we’re happy that we have achieved our goals. The goal was to secure the ticket to the Olympics and to win this tournament for the first time."
"For me personally, I don’t think I deserve this award. All 23 players helped me and I helped them and I just did my best to fulfil the role given to me by my coach and that’s why I’ve won this award."
