Nassau: Uzbekistan's Bakhtiyor Namazov has been chosen to referee the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup Bahamas 2017 final between Tahiti and Brazil, becoming the first Asian Football Confederation (AFC) official to be bestowed that particular honour in the process.

The 43-year-old has already overseen the Group Stage match between Poland and Brazil on April 30, along with the Brazil versus Portugal quarter-final encounter on May 4. He has also been a second referee, timekeeper and reserve assistant referee.

Namazov *(pictured second right) *will be assisted by Lukasz Ostrowski and Gionni Matticoli as second and third referees respectively.

Namazov has previously officiated at the 2015 AFC Beach Soccer Championship - including the final between Oman and Japan - as well as at the competition's most recent edition in Malaysia earlier this year.

The FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup Bahamas 2017 final showdown will take place on May 7 (16:30 local time) at the National Beach Soccer Arena, Bahamas.
