Group A, May 25: Portugal 1-0 Korea Republic
Triancao's seventh minute strike steered Portugal to a 1-0 win over Korea Republic in their opening Group F tie at the Bielsko-Biala Stadium. It was, though, not an easy victory for the European champions as they were forced to dig deep by a Korean side pressing hard for the equaliser.
Group A, May 28: South Africa 0-1 Korea Republic
Chung Jung-yong’s charges picked up their first points courtesy of a hard-fought 1-0 win against a resilient South Africa. The decisive breakthrough came with just over 20 minutes remaining when, from a deflected cross, defender before Kim Hyun-woo pounced to head the ball home.
Group A, May 31: Korea Republic 2-1 Argentina
The Koreans duly booked their place in the Round of 16 after ending Argentina’s unblemished start with a deserved 2-1 win in Tychy. Oh Se-hun and Cho Young-wook were on target for the young Taeguk Warriors at they set up a last eight meeting with regional rivals Japan.
Round of 16, June 4: Japan 0-1 Korea Republic
Oh Se-hun's 86th minute strike saw Korea Republic secure their ticket through to the last eight after they edged Japan 1-0 at the Lubnin Stadium. In an enthralling encounter, Oh converted late on to guarantee his side a quarter-final showdown with Senegal.
Quarter-finals, June 8: Korea Republic 3-3 Senegal (Korea Republic win 3-2 on pens)
Korea Republic twice came from behind – and were then denied at the death – to earn a 3-3 draw with Senegal after 120 minutes of scintillating football in Bielsko Biala. The Koreans were to prevail in the ensuing penalty shootout however, with Oh Se-hun converting the decisive spot-kick.

Semi-finals, June 11: Ecuador 0-1 Korea Republic
Choi Jun's neat finish from a quickly taken Lee Kang-in free-kick helped Korea Republic seal a 1-0 win over Ecuador and a place in the title showdown. It will be Korea Republic's first appearance in the final, having lost in the semi-finals of the competition’s 1983 edition.
For their part, Ukraine claimed top spot in Group D after beating the United States 2-1, Qatar 1-0 and drawing 1-1 with Nigeria. In the knockout phase, star striker Danylo Sikan scored twice as the Europeans cruised to a 4-1 win over Panama in the Round of 16, before Oleksandr Petrakov’s charges recorded narrow yet crucial 1-0 victories over Colombia and Italy in the quarter-finals and semi-finals respectively.
