Qatar's Sanchez calls 23 players for Bangladesh match 


Doha: Qatar national team head coach Felix Sanchez has called up 23 players for their Asian Qualifiers Group E match for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 and AFC Asian Cup China 2023.

The defending Asian Cup champions will host the match at the Abdullah bin Khalifa Stadium in Doha on Friday as they aim to maintain their position at the top of the group.

Sanchez will be deprived of the services of first choice goalkeeper Saad Al Sheeb who was injured in a friendly match against Ghana in October.

Sanchez also decided to drop Al Sadd defender Pedro Miguil while the squad saw the return of Al Duhail midfielder Abdelrahman Fahmi and the addition of the U23 national team defender Mohamed Ayash.

Qatar are on 13 points from five outings while Bangladesh, who have claimed one point from four matches, sit bottom of the group.

The two sides met in Dhaka in October 2019 on Matchday Three when Qatar won 2-0 thanks to goals from Yusuf Abdurisag and Karim Boudiaf.

Goalkeepers: Meshaal Barsham, Mahmoud Abunada and Fahad Younis.
Defenders: Abdulkarim Hassan, Boualem Khoukhi, Tareq Salman, Musaab Keder, Homam Ahmed, Mohamed Ayash and Jassem Gaber.
Midfielders: Karim Boudiaf, Abdulaziz Hatim, Ahmed Fathy, Moayed Hassan, Mohamed Waad, Abdelrahman Fahmi and Abdullah Al Ahrak.
Forwards: Hassan Al Haydos, Akram Afif, Almoez Ali, Ismael Mohamed, Ahmed Alaaeldin and Yusuf Abdurisag.
