Iraq had the best chance of the match when Sajad Jassim’s 24th minute effort was denied by the woodwork as both sides failed to find the target.
Iraq head coach Srecko Katanec, who tested several new players, will be hoping to have a better result when his side take on Kuwait in another friendly on January 27.
Iraq are currently top of Group C of the Asian Qualifiers with 11 points from five matches while UAE are in fourth place in Group G with only two victories from four matches.
Katanec’s charges are scheduled to take on Hong Kong in the Asian Qualifiers on March 30 while UAE play Malaysia on March 25 before facing Indonesia five days later.
