Tokyo 2020 Women's Tournament final qualifying round groups drawn
Kuala Lumpur: The journey to identify the two teams who will join Japan in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics Women’s Football Tournament has begun, following the official draw for Round 3 of the Asian Qualifiers at the AFC House on Friday.
Group A will have DPR Korea, hosts Korea Republic, Vietnam and Myanmar.
Group B pitted Australia, hosts China PR, Thailand and Chinese Taipei.

The top two teams from each group will advance to the two-leg crossover play-offs - to be played on a home and away basis - with the Group A winners facing the Group B runners-up and vice versa.
The two play-off winners will join Japan, who have already qualified by virtue of being hosts, in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
The third round will be played on February 3-9, 2020 with the play-offs scheduled for March 6 and 11.
Football at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics will commence with the women’s matches on July 22 – two days before the Games' official opening ceremony – with the men’s competition to begin on July 23. The 12-team women’s tournament will conclude on August 7, with the men’s tournament ending the following day.
Asian teams have established a long and proud tradition at the Olympic Games, with China PR (1996) and Japan (2012) winning silver in the women’s tournament, while Japan (1968) and Korea Republic (2012) clinched the bronze medals in the men’s competition.
