Shaikh Salman backs Timor-Leste efforts

Kuala Lumpur: The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) President Shaikh Salman bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa today held his first meeting with Football Federation of Timor-Leste (FFTL) President Nilton Telmo Gusmão dos Santos.

Ahead of the 6th AFC Executive Committee meeting, Shaikh Salman offered his heartfelt congratulations to the FFTL President on his recent election to the position earlier this January, which will see him serve for the remaining 2025/26 term.

Kuala Lumpur: Asian Football Confederation (AFC) President Shaikh Salman bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa met with the Guam Football Association (GFA) President Valentino San Gil in the Malaysian capital on Wednesday.

Hailing the GFA’s efforts in establishing mutually beneficial outcomes with the local business community, Shaikh Salman praised the leadership of President Valentino San Gil in securing vital funding to drive youth and women’s football programmes aimed at enhancing the passion for the game across the Island.

Kuala Lumpur: The stage is set for the 35th Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Congress, which will return to the home of Asian football in the Malaysian capital of Kuala Lumpur on Saturday, April 12, 2025.

To be held at the Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur, the 35th AFC Congress will vote on the Audited Financial Statements and Auditors’ Report for the year 2024, which saw the AFC deliver a historic 16 competitions, including the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023™, and usher a new dawn with the commencement of its revamped club competitions.
