Kuala Lumpur: Asian Football Confederation (AFC) President Shaikh Salman bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa met with the Chinese Football Association (CFA) President Song Kai in the Malaysian capital on Saturday to discuss ways to strengthen the development of the game in the world’s second most populous nation.

Shaikh Salman praised President Song Kai for spearheading a period of revitalisation anchored in the cherished principles of transparency, greater professionalism and good governance.

Kuala Lumpur: The Asian Football Confederation (AFC)’s commitment towards uplifting its Member Associations (MAs) and Regional Associations (RAs) was further emphasised at the 35th AFC Congress 2025, which concluded today in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

At the outset, the AFC President conveyed the condolences of the Asian football family to the communities affected by the ongoing conflict in Palestine as well as those impacted in Myanmar and Thailand following the devastating earthquake which has tragically claimed more than 3,000 lives.

Kuala Lumpur: Shaikh Salman bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa, President of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), underlined the importance of close partnerships and hailed the progress of football in Central Asia when he met with key leaders of the region in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on Friday.

Amongst the senior leadership present at the meeting were Tajikistan Football Federation (TFF) Senior Vice President Khurshed Mirzo, The Kyrgyz Football Union (KFU) Vice President Dastanbek Konokbaev and Uzbekistan Football Association (UFA) Senior Vice President Ravshan Irmatov.
