AFC President reinforces support towards strengthening football in Nepal

Kuala Lumpur: Asian Football Confederation (AFC) President Shaikh Salman bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa today met with the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) President Pankaj Bikram Nembang in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, to discuss the future development of the game in the football-loving nation. 

The AFC President congratulated newly-elected President Nembang on his recent mandate, adding that his victory in July this year was testament to the faith and confidence the Nepali football family had in his capabilities.

AFC expands media partnership with Sportdigital to cover the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023™ in Germany, Austria and Switzerland

Kuala Lumpur: The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has today announced that Sportdigital will be their media partner for the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023™ in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. 

Sportdigital’s existing deal with the AFC covers the AFC U23 Asian Cup™ in 2022 and 2024, all AFC’s men’s youth competitions, and the AFC Cup™, as well as all Futsal men’s national team competitions. The expanded partnership will now also include the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023™, the AFC’s flagship men’s national team competition.

Muscat: Winning the AFC Cup™ 2022 would be a game changer not just for Al Seeb SC, but for the entirety of Omani football, according to Ghanaian forward Cosmos Dauda.

Matildas legend Dolan joins star-studded line-up for Australia & New Zealand 2023 draw

Auckland: Two-time FIFA Women’s World Cup champion Carli Lloyd headlines a star-studded line-up of FIFA Legends at the Draw for the FIFA Women’s World Cup Australia & New Zealand 2023 in Auckland on Saturday.

The line-up of draw assistants features former Football Fern Maia Jackman and former Matilda Julie Dolan, along with former England international and TV/radio personality Ian Wright, FIFA World Cup 2002 winner Gilberto Silva from Brazil, Alexi Lalas from the USA, and former Cameroon star Geremi.

Lloyd is one of the draw conductors along with CNN sports anchor Amanda Davies. Together the duo will lead the technical component of the event, which will start at 19:30 local time on Saturday.

Kuala Lumpur: Kevin Mendoza has insisted that should Kuala Lumpur City FC win the AFC Cup™ 2022 final, it would be an even bigger achievement than lifting the Malaysia Cup last year as the tournament debutants prepare for the final against Oman’s Al Seeb Club on October 22.

Philippines goalkeeper Mendoza signed for KL City last year and within the first 12 months helped them win the Malaysia Cup for the first time in 32 years after stunning domestic powerhouse Johor Darul Ta’zim in the final to qualify for their maiden AFC Cup.
