Ajman: AFC President Shaikh Salman bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa, congratulated the President and members of the UAE FA Transition committee, after they were appointed by UAE FA Congress in Ajman yesterday.
Shaikh Salman met with Sheikh Rashid Bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of UAE FA Transition committee, and the members of the Committee and other sports leaders in UAE and expressed his belief that the Transitional Committee will serve the best interests of UAE football.
During the meeting, the two Presidents discussed possible cooperation between AFC and UAE FA Transition committee, and the AFC's projects as well as the AFC's plans to develop Asian football and support its Member Associations.
The AFC President explained that the UAE has a special position in Asian football and, stressing that AFC will support the Transition Committee to achieve UAE's football ambitions.
Shaikh Rashid welcomed the visit of the AFC President and explained that it confirmed Shaikh Salman was keen to keep the lines of communication with Member Associations open and to learn the challenges they face.
H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, also received the AFC President where Sheikh Mansour was briefed on the AFC's plans and programmes to develop football.
Sheikh Mansour praised the efforts by the AFC and expressed his appreciation to the Confederation for supporting UAE FA and growing the sport at all levels across the Continent.
