Kuala Lumpur: The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Member Associations (MA) were exposed to the benefits of implementing integrated web-based registration systems at a FIFA Connect and AFC Competitions Management System Workshop in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on Wednesday.
Competitions and stakeholder management are critical components for every successful MA. As part of efforts to assist with the implementation of best practices, the FIFA Connect Programme was introduced by FIFA in 2015 to enable MAs to manage football more efficiently and stimulate more systematic stakeholder engagement, while improving transparency as well as protection of minors.
IT Programme Coordinator from the FIFA Development Office Sujit Manjuran said: “When fully implemented, the FIFA Connect platform provides a database and unique identification code for every football stakeholder in the Member Association, functioning as a football passport that holds information and history on each stakeholder’s role in football.
