Doha: The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) will welcome the Continent’s top sports science and medical practitioners to the 7th AFC Medical Conference Qatar 2022 which will take place from March 8 to 10.
With the theme “Football and sports medicine – celebrating diversity,” the highly-acclaimed 7th AFC Medical Conference Qatar 2022 will focus on women’s football, youth, recreational footballers of all ages, and footballers with special needs. The programme includes keynote addresses, lectures, symposia, free papers, poster presentations and clinical cadaver workshops, and will highlight areas of contention on the return to football during the COVID-19 pandemic and evolution of diversity and inclusion in football.

Kuala Lumpur: The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) underlined its commitment to safeguard the health of all participating clubs in the biggest-ever editions of the AFC Champions League and AFC Cup by organising a two-day medical webinar for Team Medical Personnel.
More than 200 team doctors, team physiotherapists, Team Hygiene Officers and AFC Medical Officers joined the virtual event with the focus on the “Readiness to Embrace New Challenges: COVID-19 and Beyond”.

Kuala Lumpur: The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) in collaboration with the FIFA Anti-Doping Unit organised a two-day webinar to strengthen the anti-doping knowledge of AFC Member Association medical professionals which ended on Wednesday.
More than 200 participants joined the AFC Anti-Doping Webinar 2021 that gave an overview of the worldwide anti-doping framework in football while participants were also briefed on substances which are prohibited and often abused in Asia.

Kuala Lumpur: The Asian Football Confederation’s (AFC) commitment to prioritise the health and wellbeing of all its stakeholders by upholding the highest health protocol standards was further underlined after the AFC Medical Committee agreed at its meeting on Tuesday to form the AFC COVID-19 Advisory Expert Group.
Epidemiological and Public Health Experts will be tasked to provide the AFC with expert advice on the current pandemic and establish recommendations and guidance in the management and prevention of the infection.
Leading the discussions at its third meeting, Chairperson Dato’ Dr. Gurcharan Singh said: “The COVID-19 pandemic has been the toughest crisis in modern history, and it is crucial that we continue to support our Member Associations and provide important professional advice to the AFC.
“Through the AFC COVID-19 Advisory Expert Group, the AFC will not only ensure our competitions continue to implement the highest medical protocols, providing greater clarity and offer advice as well as assistance during these unprecedented times.”
