AFC Dream Asia Foundation to create greater impact through enhanced funding allocation model

Kuala Lumpur: The Asian Football Confederation (AFC)’s ambitions to maximise the power and passion of the beautiful game to provide much needed support to vulnerable communities across the Continent through the AFC Dream Asia Foundation was further strengthened today at the 3rd AFC Social Responsibility Committee meeting.

In his opening address at the meeting conducted virtually, Chairperson Zaw Zaw reiterated his gratitude to the AFC, its Member Associations (MAs) and Regional Associations (RAs) for their unity, dedication and leadership in assisting and empowering communities in need, particularly during these challenging times.

AFC Dream Asia Foundation receives resounding support from Saudi Arabian Football Federation

Riyadh: The Asian Football Confederation (AFC)’s commitment to leverage on the power of football for social development, as underlined in its Vision and Mission, received a significant boost on Tuesday after the Saudi Arabian Football Federation (SAFF) pledged USD500,000 to the AFC Dream Asia Foundation.

AFC President and Patron of the AFC Dream Asia Foundation Shaikh Salman bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa, who received the cheque from SAFF President Yasser Hassan M Almisehal in a special ceremony held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, expressed his appreciation to the SAFF for sharing the AFC’s belief to empower and strengthen vulnerable communities across the Continent.

The AFC Asian Cup China 2023™ Local Organising Committee (LOC) has launched a “10 hand 100” Rural Vitalisation Social Responsibility (SR) Project, which aims to leverage on hosting the prestigious tournament to develop football in counties that just emerged from poverty in recent years, particularly among the younger generation, and to promote rural vitalisation.

BFF to build on the legacy of successful youth campaign

Thimpu: The Bhutan Football Federation (BFF), with the support of the AFC Dream Asia Foundation, has successfully organised a year-long campaign which focused on the rehabilitation of convicted youths.

BFF, together with their partner Nazhoen Lamtoen, a non-profit organisation dedicated to helping youths, launched the campaign in 2020 to use football as a unifying force for the outreach of convicted youths who are often subjected to abuse, neglect and have been marginalised by society.

Since the start of the campaign, a total of 150 youths participated in the social responsibility programme, where they learned the basics of football, refereeing and participated in weekly training sessions.

Tehran: Helia Piltan, an Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Youth Social Responsibility Ambassador initiated a project which aims to further promote gender equality and women’s empowerment in the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Supported by the Football Federation Islamic Republic of Iran (FFIRI), the two-hour online session covered various topics such as the creation of equal employment and educational opportunities, equal wages in sports, broadcasting as well as media and public support for women's sports.

MFF brings joy to two children with disabilities

Ulaanbaatar: The Mongolian Football Federation (MFF) brought joy to two children with developmental and intellectual disabilities during the Mongolian Premier League match between Khangarid FC and Athletic 220 FC on September 15, 2021.

The two children will forever cherish the moment of marching together with the players into the stadium and given the opportunity to score a goal before the match proper started. Both children were ushered off the pitch as players applauded their efforts.

This was the MFF’s latest initiative to give children regardless of their abilities an opportunity to enjoy playing football.

Additionally, the MFF is also planning a variety of projects with other non-governmental organisations including the Mongolian Blind Football Federation.
