AFC Scientific Committee determined to stage best-ever AFC Medical Conference

Kuala Lumpur: The AFC Scientific Committee met in Kuala Lumpur today, setting the tone for the launch of the 8th AFC Medical Conference Kuala Lumpur 2025 on Wednesday. 

The first meeting of the committee took place virtually last year where the theme for the upcoming edition of the conference, “Medicine & Science: Navigating through changing times”, was finalised.

Following on from the first two instalments of the programme, staged in Bangkok, Thailand and Doha, Qatar earlier this year, the third leg of the 2024 edition was held in Hong Kong, China for a fourth time.

AFC Football Medicine and Anti-Doping course kicks off in Hanoi

Hanoi: The Asian Football Confederation (AFC), in collaboration with the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), conducted the AFC Football Medicine and Anti-Doping Course from July 12 to 14, 2024 in the Vietnamese capital city of Hanoi.

Held at the headquarters of the VFF, 66 doctors, physiotherapists and allied medical personnel received updates on the latest knowledge in sports medicine and refreshed their clinical skills through training delivered by experts from the AFC Panel of Sports Medicine.

Riyadh: Nine Member Associations (MAs) gained valuable insights during the recent Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Football Emergency and Anti-Doping Regional Course (West), which took place from May 27 to 30.

Held in collaboration with the Saudi Arabian Football Federation (SAFF) in the capital city of Riyadh, the event focused on empowering the participants with the latest developments in sports medicine as well as providing a platform for medical professionals to come together to exchange ideas and opinions.

Kuala Lumpur: The Asian Football Confederation (AFC)’s commitment to ensure the optimum level of medical care for Asian players was further emphasised today after the AFC Medical Committee approved the recognition of two new healthcare providers as part of the prestigious AFC Medical Centre of Excellence network at its second meeting held virtually.

The Japan Football Association Clinic and the Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Center - Vinmec Times City International Hospital in Vietnam were inducted into the world-class pool, expanding the total number of distinguished centres to 12 across the Continent.

In preparation for the 18th edition of the Confederation's premier men’s national team competition, the members of the medical team underwent thorough training in order to acquaint themselves with all the groundbreaking medical innovations that were introduced for the first time, such as the use of medical tablets and the implementation of paperless doping control measures.
