Sports medicine professionals get valuable insight at WAFF’s anti-doping webinar

Kuala Lumpur: The West Asian Football Federation (WAFF), with the support of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), conducted an anti-doping webinar on Tuesday with the aim of raising awareness on anti-doping matters through an educational programme. 

The event, which is a-first-of-its kind to be organised by the WAFF, commenced with opening remarks from the WAFF General Secretary Khalil Al Salem, which was followed by a series of lectures from some of the best names in the field.

Tajikistan FF and FA Thailand earn AFC Coaching Convention A level membership

Kuala Lumpur: The Tajikistan Football Federation (TFF) and the Football Association of Thailand (FA Thailand)’s focused efforts to boost Coach Education saw both Member Associations (MAs) recently earn their AFC Coaching Convention A Level membership.

The TFF’s theory and practical sessions, from September 12-25, 2022, were led by Technical Director Gafurov Salokhidin and Instructor Igamberdiev Boir. These featured both onsite and online participants from football schools in Dushanbe and the surrounding regions.

Pathum Thani: Head coach Alexandre Polking applauded his Thailand players for advancing to the 2022 AFF Cup final after an impressive 3-0 win over Malaysia in the semi-final, second leg on Tuesday.

Teerasil Dangda’s sixth goal of the competition cancelled out Malaysia’s first leg lead with  Bordin Phala and substitute Adisak Kraisorn then confirming Thailand a 10th appearance in the AFF Cup final.

Lebanon beat Jordan to retain title

Aqaba: Lebanon defeated Jordan 2-0 in the 2023 WAFF U16 Girls Championship final to clinch a second consecutive title at the Al Aqaba Stadium on Tuesday.

Cecile Iskandar, who finished as top scorer with four goals, and Lea Hajj Ali scored as Lebanon claimed victory over 2018 winners Jordan.

Pathum Thani: Thailand will face Vietnam in the 2022 AFF Cup final after defeating Malaysia 3-0 in their semi-final second leg at the Thammasat Stadium on Tuesday.

Six-time champions Thailand advanced 3-1 on aggregate with Teerasil Dangda cancelling Malaysia’s first leg lead with his 19th minute strike with Bordin Phala and Adisak Kraisorn netting in the second half for a resounding win.
