Fourth edition of the AFC’s FMC participants eager to leave their mark on Asian football

Kuala Lumpur: The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) today kicked off the fourth edition of the game-changing Football Management Certificate (FMC), an online programme that looks to mould the future generation of Asian football leaders.

A total of 46 participants from the AFC’s Member Associations (MAs) and Regional Associations (RAs) as well as Independent Stakeholders will sit for the FMC programme, which targets aspiring leaders aiming to uplift Asian football and set new standards of excellence.

Uzbekistan lift second CAFA U-15 Women’s Championship title

Hisor: Uzbekistan dethroned Islamic Republic of Iran to win their second CAFA U-15 Women’s Championship title on Tuesday. 

Played in a single round-robin format, the three-team tournament saw Uzbekistan finish top of the standings on superior goal difference, with Iran second and Tajikistan third.

Lebanon win WAFF U18 Girls Championship

Beirut: Lebanon successfully defended their WAFF U18 Girls Championship title after defeating Syria 5-1 in the final at the Fouad Chehab Stadium on Tuesday.

Lebanon maintained their unbeaten run in the competition, having won all three matches in the group stage before cruising past Syria in the final to claim their second consecutive title.

Shaikh Salman reaffirms support to NMIFA

Kuala Lumpur: Shaikh Salman bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa, President of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), met with Jerry Tan, President of the Northern Mariana Islands Football Association (NMIFA), today here in Malaysia's capital.

After their membership application was granted by the 30th AFC Congress in December 2020, NMIFA became the newest member of the AFC and the Asian football family, bringing the AFC's membership to a total of 47, distributed over the vast Continent.
 
However, even before NMIFA was given full membership, they were working closely with the AFC as an Associate Member to improve the standards of football on the islands under the leadership of President Jerry Tan, which the AFC President emphasised.

Shaikh Salman hosts Kuwait FA President

Kuala Lumpur: Asian Football Confederation (AFC) President Shaikh Salman bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa today met with the Kuwait Football Association (KFA) President Abdullah Ahmed AlShaheen AlRabeea in the Malaysian capital. 

Constructive discussions were held between the two Presidents on a range of football development topics and how the AFC could further aid the progress of Kuwaiti football.
