4th AFC Internship Programme draws to an end

Kuala Lumpur: The Asian Football Confederation (AFC)’s resolve in assisting its Member Associations (MAs) and Regional Associations (RAs) realise their full potential was further underlined with the completion of the 4th AFC Internship programme on Tuesday.

The three-month long programme is one of the many initiatives launched by the AFC aimed at developing the future leaders of Asian football.

Kuala Lumpur: With Indonesia set to host their first ever FIFA tournament, Asian Football Confederation (AFC) President Shaikh Salman bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa has outlined his confidence in the nation’s ability to stage a spectacular FIFA U-17 World Cup 2023 whilst wishing the five Asian representatives the very best of success ahead of Friday’s historic kick-off. 

Scheduled to be held across four cities – Surabaya, Surakarta, Jakarta and Bandung – from November 10 to December 2, the Continent’s five representatives – hosts Indonesia, Islamic Republic of Iran, Asian champions Japan, Korea Republic, and Uzbekistan – will be looking to emulate Saudi Arabia’s title-winning run in 1989, which remains Asia’s best performance in the age-group showpiece to date.

Hayel urges Al Faisaly to push on after landmark victory

Amman: Al Faisaly head coach Ahmad Hayel expects his players to build on their AFC Champions League™ 2023/24 win over Al Sadd in their remaining Group B matches.

The Jordan club created history at the Amman International Stadium on Monday as goals from Hatem Sultan and Aref Al Haj secured their first ever AFM Champions League win at Al Sadd's expense. 
 
While the victory isn't likely to be enough for Al Faisaly to progress, Hayel said his side should use the confidence gained to aim higher in their remaining matches.
