Inaugural AFC Knowledge Sharing Programme 2024 gets underway

Kuala Lumpur: The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) launched the first edition of the AFC Knowledge Sharing Programme 2024 on Tuesday, as it continues to maximise the capabilities of its Member Associations (MAs) and Regional Associations (RAs).

The initiative, which replaces the AFC Internship programme, will see one candidate each from the Palestine Football Association (PFA), Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) and Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) undergo an intensive training period while being guided by some of the most renowned experts in football governance.

Mitoma named in Japan squad

Tokyo: Japan head coach Hajime Moriyasu has included Kaoru Mitoma in his squad for the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023™ despite injury concerns surrounding the Brighton & Hove Albion winger.

Mitoma was included in a 26-man squad that also features Arsenal’s Takehiro Tomiyasu, Liverpool midfielder Wataru Endo and Real Sociedad playmaker Takefusa Kubo but missing FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 stars Ao Tanaka and Daichi Kamada.

The online programme is the latest initiative from the AFC’s Academic Centre of Excellence (ACE) and comes on the heels of their other breakthrough educational opportunities, including the AFC Certificate in Football Leadership and the AFC Certificate in Child Safeguarding.

Latest AFC FMD graduates look to elevate Asian football standards

Kuala Lumpur: The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) today celebrated their fifth batch of Football Management Diploma (FMD) graduates, who are now firmly on the path towards achieving management excellence.

The 41 graduates successfully completed the 11-month online programme by putting in 460 hours of study time over 12 bespoke modules that further emphasise the AFC’s commitment towards developing skilful and capable future leaders of Asian football.
