AFC Elite Futsal Referee Instructors Seminar 2023 concludes successfully

Kuala Lumpur: The Asian Football Confederation (AFC)’s unwavering commitment to producing world-class referees was further underlined at the AFC Elite Futsal Referee Instructors Seminar 2023 which took place from August 17 to 19 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. 

Spanning over three days, the seminar saw 11 participants from across the AFC’s Member Associations (MAs) receive valuable guidance from some of the world’s most renowned Referee Instructors, namely Pedro Angel Galan Nieto from Spain, Malaysia’s Badrul Hisham Bin Kalam, and Seyedsadreddin Mousavi from the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Brisbane: Clinical Sweden repeated their third-placed finish from 2019 after they beat Australia 2-0 at Brisbane Stadium to win the bronze medal at the FIFA Women’s World Cup Australia & New Zealand 2023 on Saturday.

While it was a disappointing final outing in the tournament for Australia, it was still a hugely successful campaign for the Matildas, the fourth place still represents their best-ever finish at a FIFA Women’s World Cup.

Liverpool sign Japan midfielder Endo from Stuttgart

London: Liverpool have signed Japan midfielder Wataru Endo on a long-term contract, subject to international clearance and work permit application, the Premier League club announced on Friday.

No fee was disclosed but British media outlets, including Sky Sports, valued the 30-year-old's move from Bundesliga club Stuttgart at £19 million.
