AFC Social Responsibility efforts continue to create lasting impact across Asia

Kuala Lumpur: The Asian Football Confederation’s (AFC) commitment through its AFC Dream Asia Foundation to bring much needed aid to communities across the Continent has been further demonstrated not only by the work with UNOPS and International Federation of Red Cross/Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) but also the AFC Vice President and Chairperson of the AFC’s Social Responsibility Committee Zaw Zaw.

Zaw Zaw has been the driving force behind a 1000-bed hospital at the Thuwunna Stadium in Yangon through his role as chairman of the Ayeyarwady Foundation which has funded the hospital to treat those suffering from COVID-19.

ASEAN Zone youth ambassadors complete e-Goal Social Responsibility Programme

Kuala Lumpur: As many as 23 hopefuls from 11 Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Member Associations in the ASEAN Zone completed the first phase of the landmark AFC-AURORA’s e-Goal programme on Friday.

Over the course of the three weeks, the cohort have engaged in a series of virtual sessions centered on sport for development which include key areas such as Diversity and Inclusion, Philanthropy in Football and Safeguarding and Child Protection.

AFC Dream Asia Foundation partners with UNOPS

Kuala Lumpur: The AFC Dream Asia Foundation has teamed up with UNOPS to help vulnerable communities in countries in Asia that have been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) and UNOPS will provide assistance to communities in Nepal, Myanmar, and Indonesia through various on-ground support activities.

Kuala Lumpur: Youth social ambassadors from 13 Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Member Associations in the South and Central Zones started their e-Goal journey on Monday in a landmark moment as the ground-breaking programme reached all five of the AFC Zones.

Malditas’ Palacios urges e-Goal ambassadors to use their voice for social good

Kuala Lumpur: Inna Palacios, the captain of the Philippines Women’s national team, has urged youth ambassadors on the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) and AURORA’s e-Goal programme to use their voice to do good.  The Malditas’ goalkeeper was speaking at a session on “Reflecting Diversity in Football” for the e-Goal programme for Member Associations (MA) in the AFC’s ASEAN Zone, which also includes Australia.

Palacios was a guest speaker on a session focusing on questions about diversity in football led by Sam Turner from the International Federation of Cerebral Palsy Football. He guided the youth ambassadors through a series of discussions and framed the topic of diversity as both a challenge and an opportunity.

Ground-breaking e-Goal programme commences in the ASEAN Zone

Kuala Lumpur: The pioneering e-Goal programme continued to create a meaningful impact across the Continent as 24 aspiring youth social ambassadors from 10 Asian Football Confederation’s (AFC) Member Associations in the ASEAN Zone began their journey on Monday.

The first workshop focused on how sport can be used to accelerate progress towards the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Participants will also delve into important topics such as Philanthropy in Football, Diversity and Inclusion, Safeguarding and Protection, Mental Health, Civic Engagement and Participation as well as Digital Citizenship and Social Entrepreneurship.
