AFC Member Associations take the lead to help COVID-19 affected communities

Kuala Lumpur: The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Member Associations continue to spread the message that “Football Cares” through social responsibility initiatives organised for communities affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) launched a feeding the poor programme while the Myanmar Football Federation (MFF) is working closely with its Ministry of Health to provide accommodation to those returning to the country and are required to be quarantined.

Meanwhile the UAE Pro League has started a 10-day football skill challenge where they will donate money to the Fund of the United Arab Emirates - Homeland of Humanity - for every football skill video uploaded on Instagram.

Kuala Lumpur: The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) President Shaikh Salman bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa today praised the outstanding contributions of the frontline health professionals, carers and responders who are doing so much to help and protect communities across Asia – and the world.

Shaikh Salman also thanked the work of the AFC’s Member Associations and the contribution of players and officials during this unprecedented time of the COVID-19 pandemic, which has claimed so many lives across the globe.

AFC’s #BreakTheChain continues to extend powerful message 

Kuala Lumpur: Al Hilal’s Brazilian midfielder Carlos Eduardo, India and JSW Bengaluru goalkeeper Gurpreet Singh and Palestine international Rami Hamadeh are the latest Asian football icons to join the Asian Football Confederation’s (AFC) #BreakTheChain campaign.

The AFC’s initiative, supported by close to 100 players and officials, continues to reach new audiences and territories with more AFC Member Associations, Clubs, players and officials committing to lend their support to prevent the transmission of the COVID-19 pandemic.

KFA opens national team training center for COVID-19 patients

Seoul: The Korea Football Association (KFA) stepped up their efforts to help combat the spread of COVID-19 by opening their national team training center to house coronavirus patients. 

In a selfless act, the National Football Center (NFC) in Paju, north of Seoul in Gyeonggi Province, which has been idle due to the suspension of all football matches in the country, will be used to house patients with mild cases of COVID-19.

UAE FA launches 'Our Championship is Your Safety' campaign amid COVID-19 pandemic

Dubai: The United Arab Emirates Football Association has launched an initiative to emphasise the need for the country’s residents to adhere to safety measures put in place to limit the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus.

The “Our Championship is Your Safety” initiative was launched on Sunday. The UAE FA has postponed all football for an initial period of four weeks from March 15, a decision made in line with government directives.
