Dubai: An AFC Futsal Development team commenced its three-day visit to the United Arab Emirates with a meeting with futsal officials on Tuesday.
The meeting was attended by Chairman of the UAE Futsal Executive Committee Ahmed Nasir Al-Fardan and representatives from the Sharjah Sports Council.
“As a newcomer to the AFC futsal family after successfully hosting the AFC Futsal Championship in 2012, the UAE is benefiting from the legacy left behind from the AFC top-tier futsal competition,” said AFC Futsal and Beach Soccer Development Director Ali Targholizade, who heads the AFC team.

The country’s top futsal league will be contested by 16 clubs from all across the Emirates with representatives from Dubai, Sharjah, Wahda and Abu Dhabi.
After the kick-off meeting, the AFC team will continue its tasks with other meetings, field visits and inspections.
The visit’s programme covers various aspects of futsal such as governance and administration, league and competition, grassroots and youth, national teams, coach education and referee development.
