AFC Grassroots Charter set to raise the bar in the grassroots movement

Kuala Lumpur: The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) conducted its 2nd AFC Grassroots Panel Meeting for the term 2022–2023 virtually on Thursday to discuss new ways to attract wider participation in grassroots football in Asia.

Attended by 14 panel members from 13 Member Associations (MAs), the meeting outlined recent achievements of grassroots football on the Continent while a comprehensive plan for the future was discussed elaborately.

London: Tottenham forward Son Heung-min insists he is not worried by his goal drought as the Korea Republic star eyes a return to his prolific form.

Son scored 12 times in his final 14 appearances last season to earn a share of the Premier League Golden Boot alongside Liverpool's Mohamed Salah with 23 goals in total.

Kuala Lumpur: The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) conducted a Match Commissioner (MC) Seminar 2022 for the East Region in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from September 5 to 7, 2022. 

Joined by 17 participants from 10 Member Associations (MAs), the three-day seminar marked the first offline event that was organised by the Competitions & Football Events Division (CFED) since the onset of the pandemic in 2020.

Japan's Yui signs for Manchester City

Manchester: Japan international Yui Hasegawa has joined English Women’s Super League side Manchester City. 

The midfielder has signed a three-year contract, said City in a statement. 

Hasegawa, 25, joined City from fellow Women’s Super League side West Ham United, having scored against her new employers when the two sides met last season.
