Grassroots heroes honoured at 3rd AFC Grassroots Conference 2023

Kuala Lumpur: The 3rd AFC Grassroots Conference 2023 kicked off today with the AFC Special Grassroots Awards 2023 which commemorated the unsung heroes of grassroots football in Asia in the Malaysian capital city of Kuala Lumpur. 

Setting the Conference in motion, the ceremony saw the honour of the Best Grassroots Leader bestowed upon Japan’s Masakatsu Setowaki while India’s Anantapur Sports Academy was crowned as the Best Grassroots Project. Meanwhile, the accolade of the Best Grassroots Club was awarded to Japan’s Kasuga Eagles Club.

4th AFC Grassroots Panel Meeting 2023 focuses on AFC Grassroots Charter expansion

Kuala Lumpur: The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) further underlined its commitment to elevate grassroots football in Asia when it conducted the 4th AFC Grassroots Panel meeting in the Malaysian capital city of Kuala Lumpur on Tuesday. 

Chaired by AFC Technical Director Andy Roxburgh and attended by 12 panel members from 10 Member Associations (MAs), the meeting was an excellent opportunity for grassroots football experts in Asia to exchange ideas and discuss strategies on the many ways to enhance the reach of the beautiful game on the Continent.

Second batch of AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023™ tickets go on sale

Doha: With just under two months to go to the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023™, a second batch of tickets have been made available today to the public.

This was confirmed by the Local Organising Committee (LOC), for Asia’s crown jewel, which takes place between 12 January and 10 February, 2024.

Amman: Saudi Arabia's target will be to further tighten their grip on Group G of the Preliminary Joint Qualification - Round 2 for the FIFA World Cup 2026 and AFC Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2027™ when they travel to Amman to face Jordan on Tuesday.

Saudi Arabia found themselves two points ahead after Matchday One, having defeated Pakistan 4-0 while Tajikistan and Jordan settled for a share of the points following a dramatic 1-1 draw.

Hanoi: Vietnam will host Iraq in a top-of-the-table Preliminary Joint Qualification - Round 2 for the FIFA World Cup 2026 and AFC Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2027™ Group F clash on Tuesday.

Vietnam defeated Philippines 2-0 in their opener while Iraq impressed in a 5-1 win over Indonesia on Thursday.
