HKFA awarded AFC Grassroots Charter Silver Membership

Hong Kong: The Hong Kong Football Association Ltd.’s (HKFA) application to upgrade their status to a silver membership in the Asian Football Confederation (AFC)’s Grassroots Charter has been approved in recognition of their continuous commitment and efforts to develop grassroots football.

As one of the first Member Associations (MAs) to receive the AFC Grassroots Charter Membership in 2018, the HKFA created a systematic five-year strategic plan which provided the direction in all aspects of football development while highlighting the significance of grassroots growth.

Syrian FA expands the reach of grassroots football to people with hearing disabilities

Damascus: The Syrian Football Association (SFA) continued to promote football to people across the country regardless of their background and abilities by introducing a Syria Cup Futsal Football Championship for those with hearing impairment. 

Together with the Paralympic Committee in Syria, SFA worked with cities in the country to establish a local tournament with the winner representing their city in the Syria Cup Championship.
 
A total of six teams from six cities - Damascus, Lattakia, Aleppo, Quneitra, As Suwayda and Daraa - participated in the seven-day competition with each team consisting of one head coach, 10 players and several staff members.

Macau FA enjoys renewed AFC Grassroots Charter Bronze Membership

Macau: The Macau Football Association (AFM) recently had their AFC Grassroots Charter Bronze Membership renewed, thanks to their continuous dedication and focus in upgrading grassroots programmes throughout Macau.

In approving their three-year-old membership renewal, the AFC Grassroots Panel cited the AFM’s strategic plans, age-group competition structure, event-organising capabilities, partnerships and adult-education projects. Despite limited resources and facilities, all activities were well-received by participants and enjoyed government support.

AIFF focuses on grassroots for National Sports Day 2021

New Delhi: The All India Football Federation (AIFF) organised a series of grassroots activities over two weeks in conjunction with the country’s annual National Sports Day on August 29.

The programme, held in various schools in 18 states nationwide, saw 82 organisations comprising state and district associations, societies, NGOs, clubs, private companies and colleges, among others, take part.

Kuala Lumpur: The Asian Football Confederation’s (AFC) commitment to promote grassroots football and to provide a safe and enjoyable football environment was further highlighted at the 12th AFC Grassroots Panel meeting held online on Thursday.

Led by the AFC Technical Director Andy Roxburgh, 13 Panel members were updated on the widely-acclaimed AFC Grassroots Charter and grassroots development.

Syrian FA receives AFC Grassroots Charter Bronze Membership 

Damascus: The Syrian Football Association (SFA) has been awarded the AFC Grassroots Charter Bronze Membership for its comprehensive grassroots strategy and all-inclusive programmes.

With the aim of strengthening the game across the country, the SFA has a long-term plan which covers a wide range of areas such as player development, coach education, capability development for referees and administrators as well as grassroots projects.
