Fukuoka: The special support programme organised for AFC Development Group Referees during the Sanix Cup International Youth Soccer Tournament 2015 in Fukuoka, Japan concluded on Sunday.
Matches in the competition were of a high quality and provided an ideal opportunity with which to assess and evaluate the performances of AFC Development Group Referees, who have also gained invaluable experience from the event.
FIFA/AFC Referee Instructors Subkhiddin Mohd Salleh form Malaysia and Japan’s Ishiyama Noboru provided feedback during post-match debriefing sessions to help the officials improve their performances.
“We have given you lots of advice and feedback,” said Salleh. “You have seen your own matches and this competition has given you lots of learning opportunities. You have plenty of information and experience to take with you.
“Our aim is to make you better referees. We need to bring you to the standard of AFC Referees and we hope to see you in action in top AFC competitions in the near future.”
Referees Coordinator Ameez Mohamed from the AFC Referees Department thanked the Japan Football Association, Fukuoka Soccer Association and Sanix Foundation for the opportunity to conduct the programme during the tournament.
