Moyes, Postecoglou headline AFC Elite Club Coaches Forum 2023

Kuala Lumpur: The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) conducted the eighth edition of the AFC Elite Club Coaches Forum 2023 on Thursday, providing an opportunity for the Continent's coaches to hear from some of the most renowned experts ahead of the AFC club competitions kicking off in less than two weeks' time.

Featuring a star-studded line-up comprising legends such as former Manchester United and current West Ham Head Coach David Moyes and Tottenham Hotspur Manager Ange Postecoglou, the forum was an excellent example of the Confederation’s resolve in working towards ensuring that Asian teams continue to excel on the world stage.

Thimphu: India defeated Bangladesh 2-0 to lift the SAFF U-16 Championship 2023 title at the Changlimithang Stadium on Sunday.

It was India's fifth title since the tournament was first introduced in 2011.

Chiangmai: Iraq triumphed in a penalty shootout against Thailand to win the 2023 King’s Cup in a rain-soaked 700th Anniversary Stadium on Sunday.

In an action packed match, Iraq took the lead twice but Thailand fought back to draw level before suffering the 5-4 shootout heartbreak at the end.

AFC Cup™: Through the Years

Kuala Lumpur: The AFC Cup™ 2023-24 season is edging closer as the competition returns to its usual home-and-away format for the first time in four years. 

Al Seeb Club became the first Omani side to lift the title when they beat Kuala Lumpur City FC 3-0 in last season’s final at Bukit Jalil National Stadium in Kuala Lumpur.

Japan, Malaysia impress; Australia denied

Kuala Lumpur: Japan produced a masterclass as they cruised 4-1 past Germany in an international friendly on Saturday.

Malaysia held their own in a 1-1 draw with China PR while Australia were denied victory as Mexico fought back for a 2-2 stalemate.
 
Uzbekistan fell 3-0 to the United States as Asian teams continued their preparations for the Preliminary Joint Qualification for the FIFA World Cup 2026 and AFC Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2027™ and AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023™.
