Future generation the focus of MAs’ AFC Women’s Football Day celebrations

Kuala Lumpur: The Asian Football Confederation (AFC), together with 39 Member Associations (MAs), celebrated the eighth AFC Women’s Football Day in March by organising exciting and interesting activities to promote the sport to girls. 

The festivities included a range of initiatives including webinars, friendly matches, workshops and giving basic football training to girls. More importantly, the programmes focused on fun and inspired young girls across the Continent to embark on a lifelong journey in the beautiful game.

Al Duhail appoint Crespo as head coach

Doha: Newly crowned Qatar Emir Cup champions Al Duhail have announced the appointment of former Argentina forward Hernan Crespo as their new head coach.

The 46-year-old Crespo replaces Luis Castro who left Al Duhail to coach Brazilian outfit Botafogo.
 
Al Duhail are in Group D of the AFC Champions League™ 2022 alongside Saudi Arabia’s Al Taawoun, Pakhtakor of Uzbekistan and 2007 AFC Champions League finalists Sepahan SC of Islamic Republic of Iran.

Jamshedpur: India edged Bangladesh to clinch their first SAFF U-18 Women’s Championship title as the tournament came to an end on Friday.

The three-team tournament featured hosts India, Bangladesh and Nepal in a double round robin format, with the young Blue Tigress emerging victorious after four matches with nine points to their name, denying Bangladesh a third successive title on goal difference.
