High participation marks 2nd AFC Elite Youth Special Online Session
Kuala Lumpur: The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) conducted its 2nd AFC Elite Youth Special Online Session yesterday to highlight the role played by Member Associations (MAs) in youth development in their regions, while also discussing the ways in which the AFC Elite Youth Scheme can assist the MAs in creating National Youth Programmes.
The session, which was conducted by the AFC Technical Director, Andy Roxburgh and the Head of Youth Development, Laszlo Szalai, saw over a hundred technical directors, youth national coaches, heads of youth academies, and academy directors coming together to share ideas on how to help talented youth footballers in their crucial phase as they aim to transition into the senior teams of their respective nations.

Thimphu: The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) conducted a visit to Bhutan as part of the AFC Women’s Assistance Programme (WAP) from October 7-10 to assess the progress made by the Bhutan Football Federation (BFF) in women’s football in the last decade.
During the visit, the AFC delegation, led by the AFC Head of Women’s Football Bai Lili, met officials of the BFF where the latter enumerated the activities that had been undertaken for strengthening the landscape of women’s football in the country since the last WAP visit.
Jakarta: An Asian Football Confederation (AFC) delegation led by the AFC Deputy General Secretary Shin Man Gill and Deputy Chairperson of the AFC Safety and Security Task Force Datuk Dell Akbar Khan met with the Football Association of Indonesia (PSSI) President Police Commissioner General Dr H. Mochamad Iriawan on Wednesday and expressed their condolences and support in the wake of the Kanjuruhan stadium tragedy earlier this month.
Following the assurance of support provided by the AFC President Shaikh Salman bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa to the PSSI, the AFC delegation also met with several key stakeholders of the PSSI and the Indonesian Government and were briefed on the latest developments.
