Youth football managers continue to benefit from AFC Technical Session

Kuala Lumpur: More than 70 participants from the Asian Football Confederation’s (AFC) Benchmarking Member Associations (MAs) joined the latest Youth Development Focus-Groups Session which emphasised on three-star youth academies and national youth team coaching.

With the aim to strengthen the capabilities of youth football managers, the highly-productive meeting covered various topics to help participants gain insights from the best practices in Asia.

Latest AFC technical session focuses on youth development 

Kuala Lumpur: The Asian Football Confederation’s (AFC) commitment towards supporting its Member Associations (MAs) to strengthen their youth development structures was underlined at the AFC Youth Development Global Session on Tuesday.

The virtual meeting, with the theme ‘Nurturing Talent’, focused on two insightful segments – the Elite Youth Football in Asia and the Elite Youth Academy.

HKFA endorsed as full member of the AFC Elite Youth Scheme

Kuala Lumpur: The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Elite Youth Scheme continues to grow rapidly with the Hong Kong Football Association Ltd. (HKFA) becoming the latest Member Association (MA) to be approved as a full member while Kitchee Academy received an elite one-star academy status.

With the aim to qualify for the AFC and FIFA youth competitions, HKFA has established a comprehensive Strategic Plan for 2020-2025, which focuses on a wide range of areas such as organisational structure, youth programmes, talent development, competitions, academy facilities, data monitoring, education and club licensing.

AFC Elite Youth Scheme poised to reach new heights 

Kuala Lumpur: A total of 17 Member Associations (MAs) are benefiting from the ground-breaking Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Elite Youth Scheme, with more to join soon, as the 11th AFC Youth Panel Meeting concluded on Thursday.

The virtual meeting started with the 14-member panel receiving updates on the progress of the AFC Elite Youth Scheme endorsement, with as many as 20 MAs submitting their applications of which 16 are members as well as the induction of one provisional member since September 2019.

AFC Elite Youth Scheme recognises FA Thailand as full member

Kuala Lumpur: The Football Association of Thailand (FA Thailand) is the latest Member Association (MA) to be endorsed as a full member of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Elite Youth Scheme for its continuous efforts in youth development.

FA Thailand’s progress in youth football was reflected in the AFC competitions where Thailand, which featured the talented 18-year-old Suphanat Mueanta, reached the Quarter-final of the AFC U23 Championship for the first time on home soil last year.

Kuala Lumpur: The Bhutan Football Federation (BFF) is the latest Member Association (MA) to be endorsed as a full member of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Elite Youth Scheme for its comprehensive youth development plan and structured competition system.

With the aim of supporting the development of each individual player and raising the standard of their performance, BFF’s efforts are focused on youth coach education, youth competition and strong partnerships with local clubs and national teams.
