Boli credits collective effort for Al Rayyan’s success against Istiklol

Riyadh: Yohan Boli hailed Al Rayyan’s commitment following their 1-0 victory over FC Istiklol of Tajikistan in their AFC Champions League™ 2022 Group A tie on Saturday.

The match was headed for a goalless draw at the King Fahd International Stadium but Al Rayyan dug deep with Boli producing a sublime free-kick to seal the vital win seconds from the final whistle.

Al Rayyan moved up to 10 points with a final match left to play against Al Hilal SFC, who needed two late goals to salvage a 2-2 draw against UAE’s Sharjah.

Riyadh: Yohan Boli struck right at the end as Al Rayyan SC secured a crucial three points with a 1-0 win over FC Istiklol in Group A of the AFC Champions League™ 2022 on Saturday. 

The win takes Qatar's Al Rayyan to 10 points and keeps their hopes of a place in the Round of 16 alive while Tajikistan's Istiklol suffered their fifth consecutive defeat.

Riyadh: Al Hilal SFC came from two goals down to force a 2-2 draw against Sharjah in Group A of the AFC Champions League™ 2022 on Saturday. 

Ousmane Camara and Majid Rashid provided first-half goals for Sharjah before Al Hilal fought back through Muteb Al Mufarrij and Salem Al Dawsari, who scored the equaliser off a penalty deep into added time.

Al Hilal, who have already qualified into the Round of 16, remain top of the table with 13 points, while already eliminated Sharjah are third with five points, five behind Qatar’s Al Rayyan, who defeated Istiklol 1-0 earlier on Saturday.

Dammam: A thrilling end to a meaty encounter at the Prince Mohamed bin Fahd saw Al Faisaly FC and Al Wehdat play out a 1-1 draw on Matchday Five of the AFC Champions League™ 2022 Group E on Saturday.

The match looked set to end goalless after 90 minutes of play, only for substitute Ahmad Israiwah to break the deadlock in the first minute of added time to hand Al Wehdat the lead, but Martin Boyle struck two minutes later to help Al Faisaly salvage a crucial point for the Saudi Arabia club.

Group E: FC Nasaf defeat Al Sadd to keep hopes alive

Dammam: FC Nasaf produced their best display of the AFC Champions League™ 2022 Group E, dispatching Al Sadd 3-1 and consigning the 2011 winners to a second consecutive group stage exit on Saturday.

An Akmal Mozgovoy brace, coupled with Husain Norchayev's goal saw Nasaf take a three-goal lead by the 77th minute, with Rodridgo Tabata scoring a consolation for Qatar's Al Sadd in added time. 

The win pushed Uzbekistan's Nasaf up the standings with eight points to their name, while dashing Al Sadd's hopes of a top two finish in Group E.
