Clinical Al Duhail delight Crespo in thrilling Pakhtakor victory

Buraidah: Head coach Hernan Crespo expressed his delight with his Al Duhail side’s ability to take their chances as they came from behind twice to defeat Pakhtakor 3-2 in Group D of the AFC Champions League™ 2022 on Thursday.

The Qatari side went into the break a goal down, but a second-half hat-trick from Edmilson Junior helped them collect their first three points of the campaign, leaving them second in the group behind Al Taawoun with both teams having six points to their names.

Jeddah: Al Gharafa head coach Andrea Stramaccioni rued the missed opportunity to extend their lead in Group C of the AFC Champions League™ 2022 after an injury-time equaliser by Shabab Al Ahli Dubai denied them three points on Thursday.

The Qatari side still lead Group C on five points, ahead of Foolad Khouzestan on goal difference who won the earlier match against Ahal FC.

Jeddah: It was a perfect night for Malian central defender Moussa Coulibaly who scored the winning goal to secure Foolad Khouzestan’s first victory in the AFC Champions League 2022™.

On a night when the match reached boiling point after Foolad was left frustrated by 10-man Ahal FC’s resolute defence, it was Coulibaly who kept cool to head-in the crucial 97th minute winner.

Coulibaly put in another good shift in the heart of defence to help his team secure their second clean sheet in the campaign where the Iranian side sit in second place on five points, behind only to Al Gharafa on goal difference in Group C.
