Beijing: Former FC Seoul striker Dejan Damjanovic has joined Chinese capital side Beijing Guo’an on a one-and-a-half year deal for a reported US$3mil fee from rivals Jiangsu Sainty.
Damjanovic, the three-time top scorer of the K League Classic, had moved to Sainty earlier this year after guiding FC Seoul to the final of the ACL 2013 which they lost on away goals to Guangzhou Evergrande after the score was locked at 3-3 over the two legs.
“I am glad to join such a big club like Beijing Guo’an,” the Montenegro striker was quoted as saying by the club’s official website.
“I know most of the Guo’an players and some of them are very close to me,” he added.
The club also announced that he will be wearing jersey number 27 for the remainder of the Chinese Super League campaign.
Meanwhile, Sainty thanked the player for his short-term services for the club where he scored five goals in the league.
Guo’an are at second position in the CSL table with 31 points from 14 matches – four behind leaders Guangzhou who have played one match less than the capital city side.
