'Focus on the next one," says Al Taawoun's Van den Brom after downing Sepahan

Dammam: Al Taawoun need to build on their emphatic 3-0 victory over Sepahan on Matchday Three of the AFC Champions League™ 2022 Group D on Thursday if they are to reach the knockout stage, according to head coach John van den Brom.

The group hosts bounced back from losing to Pakhtakor in the previous game to deliver a masterclass against ten-man Sepahan to move to the top of the group at the halfway point.

Club captain Nawaf Al Subhi gave Al Taawoun the lead with a powerful header just before the break, and Ze Luis hammered home the second with 45 seconds of the restart before Yazeed Al Bakar cemented the victory with a 77th minute strike, making it the club’s biggest-ever win in the AFC Champions League.

Air Force Club's Shaker rues draw with Al Shabab

Riyadh: Head coach Hakeem Shaker was disappointed Air Force Club let slip their lead to settle for a 1-1 draw with Saudi Arabia’s Al Shabab in Group B of the AFC Champions League™ 2022 on Thursday.

Air Force Club’s defensive game almost paid dividends when Roderick Miller scored the opener in the 68th minute, however, Al Shabab came back fighting to force the draw with Hassan Al Qahtani netting the late equaliser.

Al Shabab lead the Group B standings on seven points with Air Force in second place on four points, ahead of Al Jazira and Mumbai City who are both on three.
