Group E: Nasaf advance after Al Wehdat stalemate

Dammam: FC Nasaf advanced to the Round of 16 for the first time in their history after drawing Al Wehdat 2-2 on Matchday Six of Group E of the AFC Champions League™ 2022 at Prince Mohamed bin Fahd Stadium on Wednesday.

Al Wehdat came into their last game of the campaign with slender hopes; only a big win to reverse the 2-0 defeat against Nasaf would take them through to the Round of 16, while anything less would mean a historic first qualification for the Uzbek side.

Group E: Al Sadd edge Al Faisaly to end on high note

Dammam: Al Sadd SC beat Al Faisaly FC 1-0, courtesy of Pedro Miguel's second half strike, to conclude their AFC Champions League 2022™ Group E campaign on a high note on Wednesday.

Al Sadd overtook Al Wehdat SC to finish third in Group E on seven points, while Al Faisaly took top spot with nine points, tallying FC Nasaf, who confirmed their place in the Round of 16 as one of three best second-placed teams in the West Zone.

Group A: Al Rayyan celebrate qualification in style against Al Hilal

Riyadh: Al Rayyan celebrated their AFC Champions League™ 2022 Round of 16 qualification by defeating Al Hilal SFC 2-0  in Group A on Wednesday.

Al Rayyan, whose maiden appearance in the knockout stage had been confirmed before a ball was kicked at the Prince Faisal bin Fahd Stadium, took the lead through an own goal by Jang Hyun-soo before Yohan Boli doubled their advantage in the closing stages of the first half.

Group A: Triumphant sign out for Istiklol

Riyadh: Istiklol bowed out of the AFC Champions League™ 2022 with a 2-0 win against Sharjah in their final Group A game on Wednesday.

There was little to play for with both sides down and out, and Sharjah went into this game with a heavily rotated side, although there were injuries such as the one keeper Adel Al Hosani picked up in the previous game which saw his understudy, Darwish Mohamed, get the nod for the stopper’s place.
