Manila: A fine Yan Matheus volley saw Japan’s Yokohama F. Marinos edge Kaya FC-Iloilo of the Philippines 2-1 on Tuesday in Group G of the AFC Champions League™ 2023/24

Yuhi Murakami opened the scoring for Marinos midway through the first half, but his countryman playing in the colours of Kaya, Daizo Horikoshi, restored parity on 39 minutes.
 
It was a story of the substitutes in the second half as Kaya’s man off the bench, Robert Lopez Mendy was sent off in the final 10 minutes, while it was a happier evening for Yan Matheus, who scored the winner shortly after the dismissal, on 87 minutes, to give his side all three points.

Group I: Kawasaki Frontale (JPN) 4-2 BG Pathum United (THA)

Kawasaki: Goals from Kazuya Yamamura and Taisei Miyashiro earned Kawasaki Frontale their fourth win in a row as the J1 League side handed 10-man BG Pathum United a 4-2 defeat at Todoroki Stadium on Tuesday to remain perfect in Group I of the AFC Champions League™ 2023/24 .

Yamamura put Frontale in front for the third time in the game with a 68th minute header after Yasuto Wakizaka and Chanathip Songkrasin had traded first-half braces for their respective sides while Freddy Alvarez’s sending off in the 56th minute swung the game in the Japanese side’s favour.
 
Miyashiro added Frontale’s fourth in injury time and they sit on 12 points with two games remaining while BG Pathum United’s hopes have all but ended with the defeat leaving Surachai Jaturapaturapong’s side bottom of the standings without a point.

Ji'nan: Shandong Taishan of China PR bolstered their Round of 16 hopes after posting a 3-1 win against Korea Republic’s Incheon United FC in Group G of the AFC Champions League™ 2023/24 on Tuesday. 

After a goalless first half, Li Yuanyi gave the Chinese side the lead at Jinan Olympic Sports Center before an own goal from Kwon Han-jin and a Cryzan penalty sealed the result, despite a late consolation goal from Kim Do-hyuk, which made it three wins from four matches for Shandong.

Navi Mumbai: Al Hilal SFC's patient approach paid dividends as the Saudi Pro League side notched a 2-0 win over Mumbai City in Group D of the AFC Champions League™ 2023/24 on Monday.

Victory was secured after Mumbai City went down to 10 men, with Michael and Aleksandar Mitrovic scoring for the two-time AFC Champions League winners.

Hayel urges Al Faisaly to push on after landmark victory

Amman: Al Faisaly head coach Ahmad Hayel expects his players to build on their AFC Champions League™ 2023/24 win over Al Sadd in their remaining Group B matches.

The Jordan club created history at the Amman International Stadium on Monday as goals from Hatem Sultan and Aref Al Haj secured their first ever AFM Champions League win at Al Sadd's expense. 
 
While the victory isn't likely to be enough for Al Faisaly to progress, Hayel said his side should use the confidence gained to aim higher in their remaining matches.
